London based, I am a singer, songwriter and music producer from Guadeloupe, a tiny island in the French Caribbean.
Originally an actress, I like to say that Cinema was my first love but Music is my true love.
At the age of 11, I was taking part in local shows and talent competitions. Still, I didn’t start writing my own music until I turned 17.
By that time, I was studying Performing Arts in Paris, trying to adjust to the cold city, far, far away from home. I expressed my loneliness in my very first single, Beautiful Shadows, without realizing it. Indeed, at that point I thought I was merely writing a thrilling, fictional story about shadows being parasites, trying to overtake whomever they were attached to.
Years later, when I found the courage to release the song to the public, I started getting feedback about what it meant to others. It was only then I realized what it meant to me ; what I had expressed through it.
Thus, I understood the power of stories in self-expression.
And thus, I found my direction.
My style is not one to be put in a single category, as I get inspiration from Pop, Jazz, musicals and movies, sounds from my native island, and many more. In shorter terms, I produce whatever comes to mind, with no handbook and little consideration to “rules”.
Overall, what makes me thrive is storytelling. I am mainly self-taught and continue, to this day, to explore my art and push the boundaries of my own imagination.
After many workshops with coaches such as Peterson Cowan, Elléa Pierra Zamia, Jozéjéra (Vwakalité); musical theatre classes at West End MT and City Academy; and a vocal performance course at ICMP (The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance), I am now taking over the stages of London, spreading the stories I have to tell.
I know my words will find the ones who need to hear them.
